Sixth-form English: grammar for the final exams

In the English final exam, grammar is rarely tested on its own: it appears when rewriting a sentence ("Rewrite the sentence…"), choosing the connector in a text or writing. That is why what matters most at this level is mastering the structures that let you say the same thing another way: active to passive, a condition to a wish, "if" to an inversion like "Had I known…".

The quizzes on this page are built on those transformations and on the most common mistakes: "will" in the if-clause, "would" in both halves, the missing "been" in a present perfect passive, "although" mixed up with "despite". Every answer explains the rule, and La Pieza que Falta and Ordena la Frase are there to practise without exam pressure.
