Linear Equations Game (the balance method)
A maths game to solve equations without fear: the equation appears as a balanced scale and you apply the same operation to both sides — tap a term to subtract it from both pans, and divide at the end — until x stands alone. Equality is kept at every step, so you see why the method works, not just how.

Internalising that "whatever you do to one side you do to the other" is the basis for solving equations. The game makes it visual and avoids the classic sign-flipping mistakes.
Cancelling a +3 by subtracting 3, or undoing a ×2 by dividing by 2, trains inverse operations, key across all secondary-school algebra.
By tapping terms and seeing the equation simplify step by step, students overcome the "I don't know where to start" block and gain confidence.
"2x + 3 = 11 appears. The student taps the +3 (subtracted from both sides) → 2x = 8, then presses divide by 2 → x = 4."

Write the equation and draw a vertical line: it is the pivot of the balance (the = sign).
To remove a number from one side, subtract (or add) it on the other side too. Note it below.
When you reach something like 2x = 8, divide both sides by the number multiplying x.
