Sample questions

  1. 1. Which sentence is correct?

    • She go to school.
    • She goes to school.
    • She going to school.
    • She gos to school.
    Show the answer

    ✅ She goes to school.

With he/she/it in present simple, add -s or -es to the verb. "Go" → "goes".

  2. 2. Which sentence is correct?

    • He doesn't like fish.
    • He doesn't likes fish.
    • He don't like fish.
    • He not like fish.
    Show the answer

    ✅ He doesn't like fish.

"He" takes "doesn't", and the -s moves to the auxiliary: doesn't LIKE, not "doesn't likes". The auxiliary carries the person, so the main verb goes back to its base form.

  3. 3. Complete: "The train ___ at 7:15 every morning."

    • is leaving
    • leave
    • leaves
    • left
    Show the answer

    ✅ leaves

Timetables and scheduled events take the present simple, even when they talk about the future: "the train leaves at 7:15".
