No article when you mean the activity itself: go to school (to study), go to bed (to sleep), go to work. You add "the" only when you mean the building: "I went to the school to fix the roof."

  3. 3. In which sentence does the gap need NO article?

    • Close ___ door, please.
    • He is ___ engineer.
    • She plays ___ piano.
    • We go to ___ school by bus.
    Show the answer

✅ We go to ___ school by bus.

With school, hospital, church or prison, no article means the PURPOSE (going to study), not the building.
